Our Camp is hidden in a private valley in The Channon, NSW on Widjabul Wia-bul country of the Bundjalung Nation–45 minute drive west of Byron Bay. Aptly nicknamed 'The Cradle', it is nestled within 166 acres of forest. There is an ever-flowing creek running through its centre, thus giving birth to its many cascading waterfalls and waterholes.
In the 1920’s the valley here was part of the biggest farm in the area, famously known as ‘Marblewood’ aka "the place that never went dry." It's name Marblewood came from a rare endangered tree found only in this area of the world. Botanical name Acacia Bakeri means its part of the Acacia family, and it happens to the tallest and densest of all Acacias. Revered for it’s magnificent woodgrain & qualities, it was sought after in the early pioneer days. Close to extinction it is part of our mission here to bring it back into thriving existence.
